AMBSO was founded through a close partnership with Uro Care Hospital, aiming to integrate clinical services, research, training, and public health service delivery. Their initial project, in collaboration with the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) in Wakiso district, focused on Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC), laying the foundation for public health service delivery. Concurrently, AMBSO launched the Population Health Surveillance (APHS) program to monitor and enhance community health outcomes. These pioneering efforts established AMBSO’s commitment to advancing public health through research and community-based service delivery.
Building on their expertise in VMMC, AMBSO earned accreditation from the Uganda Ministry of Health to train healthcare providers in emergency resuscitation specifically tailored to VMMC procedures and early infant male circumcision. Their research portfolio expanded to include nationwide prostate cancer studies in collaboration with referral health facilities. In 2021, AMBSO ventured into clinical trials research, marking a significant expansion of their capabilities. This progression underscores AMBSO’s continuous growth and commitment to improving health outcomes through innovative and evidence-based approaches.
At AMBSO we engage in various Programs and Research Studies.
