Study 1: BOOST-UP

Study Summary: This study interrogates maternal vaccination that aims to reduce RSV burden in Uganda. The study will use mixed methods to assess the impact of routine maternal RSV vaccination. Additionally, this research is also intended to gain a deeper understanding of healthcare providers' perspectives on the barriers to maternal immunization in the current landscape. We will also assess the acceptability, feasibility, and appropriateness of expanding maternal immunization programs, while identifying the most effective strategies for delivering maternal vaccines within Uganda. This study will quantify the potential impact of maternal vaccination on RSV burden in Uganda, identify client level implementation needs for integration of maternal RSV vaccination into routine antenatal care, Identify opportunities for and barriers to successful implementation of routine maternal RSV vaccination through ANC.
