STROKE Study

Study Summary: The study aims to understand and prevent the occurrence, determinants, and predisposing conditions of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), with a specific focus on stroke prevention and rehabilitation.

The anticipated benefits include identifying relevant policy interventions to promote healthy behavioral change and encourage early diagnosis and linkage to care, increase life expectancy and health-related quality of life and contribute to the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in East African context. AMBSO is working with Karolinska Institutet HELD group leveraging on the APHS cohort.

The APHS traverses the study communities to enumerate households, a channel through which Stroke patients are identified.
