James Nkale
Head of Programs
James Nkale is a public health expert with a Master's degree in Public Health and training in Clinical Medicine and Community Health. As the head of programs at the Africa Medical and Behavioral Sciences Organization (AMBSO), he spearheads initiatives addressing critical health concerns in vulnerable communities. James has a deep understanding of the intricate relationships between healthcare systems, community engagement, and population well-being, which informs his approach to program design, implementation, and evaluation, focusing on evidence-based interventions.
In addition to his program leadership, James leads the grants writing team, overseeing activities aimed at securing funding and resources to support AMBSO’s diverse programs. His technical expertise and skills have been instrumental in the successful implementation of key initiatives, including the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) program and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response efforts.
