Our History
Africa Medical and Behavioural Sciences Organization (AMBSO) was established in 2016 by a group of Ugandan epidemiologists who have enormously contributed to HIV prevention science over the years. The organization is primarily dedicated to quality health living through innovative biomedical research, service delivery and Training.
Over time, AMBSO has developed strong and enduring collaborations with Researchers from Makerere University School of Public Health, Makerere University-Johns Hopkins University Research Collaboration (MUJHU) in Uganda, Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, University of Southern California, University of California San Diego and the University of California Los Angeles in the United States of America.
AMBSO also has active partnerships with the District Health structures of Wakiso, Hoima, and the Region of Masaka where its primary research and service activities are conducted. The data collected from this research is shared with the Ministry of Health and the District authorities to inform and influence health policy.
