Collaboration with Makerere University School of Public Health (Mak-SPH)
AMBSO and Uro Care (whereby the two organization work in sync through a foundation partnership) in 2019 formally established a collaboration to support long term cooperative activities to be achieved through collaborative research and education programs for students, the faculty, and AMBSO staff.
The collaboration includes among others;
- Provide a training ground through field placements and apprenticeship opportunities for undergraduate, graduate students and fellows.
- Provide study abroad and exchange opportunities for collaborating institutions.
- Share new technologies and new methods od disease management through joing programs
- Exchange of information in field of interest to both institutions
Lead Collaborators at Mak-SPH
Prof. Noah Kiwanuka, PhD, MPH, MBChB
Dr. Kiwanuka is an Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health at Makerere University School of Public Health. He is an expert in Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Clinical trials. He mainly teaches Biostatistics but also Epidemiology to Masters and PhD students with a focus on longitudinal and multilevel data analysis, randomized clinical trials design and analysis. Dr. Noah is also lead Investigators on a big number of AMBSO Research Protocols.
Dr. Joseph Kagaayi, PhD, MPH, MBChB
Dr. Kagaayi is a Senior Lecturer at the Makerere University School of Public Health and an epidemiologist with over 20 years of experience in Epidemiological research. His research work has been published in Leading Journals including PubMed, UK Scientific Journal as well as the JHU Public Health Journal. He is very instrumental in writing protocols and supporting the designing of AMBSO studies and has on several occasions linked his Masters and PhD students at Mak-SPH to use AMBSO data for their Thesis and Dissertations.
